Opus III is a new music publishing venture dedicated to providing exceptional music for outstanding wind orchestras and symphonic bands. Composers included in the new catalog will include both well-known and lesser-known composers. Recordings of Opus III publications will be available through Walking Frog Records and other labels.
In addition to publishing new compositions, Opus III also plans to acquire publication rights to a limited number of classic wind band compositions of outstanding merit which have either been "out of print" or underappreciated, and to reintroduce them to new audiences.
Worldwide distribution and copyright administration of Opus III publications will be handled through C.L. Barnhouse Company, a 124 year old educational music publisher located in Oskaloosa, Iowa. According to C.L. Barnhouse Company CEO Andy Clark, "The investors who have created Opus III do not wish to be involved in the day-to-day tasks of promoting, printing and shipping music so they have contracted with our company to handle those aspects of their endeavor". Barnhouse COO Andrew Glover added, "Through this arrangement Opus III will gain access to the C. L. Barnhouse worldwide network of sheet music dealers, and C.L. Barnhouse Co. will be distributing music at difficulty levels which does not compete with our regular Barnhouse publications. We believe it is a win-win situation for all parties".
